British drivers have been urged to ensure their tyres are inflated to the correct pressure.
According to TyreSafe, this will boost their safety when out on the road and will improve their fuel efficiency.
It comes as fuel prices reach record levels, prompting the organisation to remind motorists of the many benefits of maintaining the health of their tyres.
According to TyreSafe's data, the average price of a litre of diesel now stands at 144.67p, while petrol prices sit at 137.44p.
Stuart Jackson, chairman of the organisation, said: "Not only are correct tyre pressures essential from a road safety perspective, they are also very important for lower fuel bills, longer tyre life and reduced CO2 emissions.
"Checking pressures is a quick and easy job and should be done at least once a month or before a long journey."
