Renault fans will see the French manufacturer contest the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) this year.
It marks a return to the sport for the firm, which last raced in this class 13 years ago.
Renault UK won the Championship outright in 1998 and 1999 and will be looking to make a triumphant return to the sport.
The return comes after a relaxation of the rules, which means car importers can now challenge for the title.
BRC manager Mark Taylor welcomed the news of Renault's return, saying: "We recognised the commercial realities currently faced by car manufacturers and their dealerships and specifically created a British Championship to attract UK Importers by reducing the usually barriers and high cost of entry.
"We are providing them with a platform to promote products that relate to what is being sold in the showroom. We are also offering them high quality media products and a chance to engage in rally themed dealer events."
