Hyundai unveils new i30 in Frankfurt
Hyundai is gearing its new i30 to the European market after highlighting the fact that the car was "manufactured in Europe, for Europe".
The comments come from the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, where the Korean manufacturer has unveiled the next-generation i30.
Hyundai hopes that the updated model builds on the success and popularity of what has proven to be the firm's best selling model.
The i30 could also attract a new audience after Hyundai cited the improved green credentials of the motor, which boasts CO2 emissions of under 100 grams per kilometre.
Thomas Burkle, chief designer at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre, commented: "When designing the new-generation i30, we used strong, fluid lines to sculpt a car which looks athletic and exudes a sense of constant motion, even when stationary.
"We gave the car a bold stance, transmitting a confident attitude through sporty characteristics and dynamic proportions. In this way, the car is very close to the all-new i40, and the Hyundai design DNA is easy to recognise on these models."
