Nissan LCV sales rocket
Nissan is the UK's leading provider of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) after a solid performance in 2011.
Over the last 12 months, the French manufacturer has seen its retail sales figures increase by some 203 per cent.
During the same period, sales of fleet vehicles were up by 159 per cent.
The firm has also started 2012 where it left off last year, with January bringing about another five per cent rise in sales.
According to Nissan, the Primastar NV200 and Navara models performed particularly well and helped the firm gain a 6.1 per cent market share.
Francis Bleasdale, Nissan Motor GB's LCV sales and marketing director, said: "A great hunger and performance from our dealer network, in particular our 57 business centre dealers, some excellent retail finance offers and a renewed interest in the Nissan LCV range from the fleet sector can all take credit for this excellent sales growth.
"There are signs that fleets in particular are starting to replace their LCVs after extending replacement cycles during 2009 and 2010 which should help fuel sales."
