There aren't many 170mph cars in the UK for under £30,000. In fact, there's only one, and here it is; the Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport. And it's on its way to Germany – and that journey probably won't take too long once the vibrant VXR hits the unrestricted autobahn! - for the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
With over 320bhp on tap to play with, the super-stylish SuperSport is available as either a Hatch or Sports Tourer (estate), while on the outside both models have received a re-styled front and rear with signature VXR design touches like the distinctive ‘saber-tooth’ detailing at the front, and the tailpipe trim integrated into the rear bumper. It's a bit of a clich, but this VXR really looks like its moving fast, when it's standing still!
Other sporting points of interest with the hot VXR include a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel-drive that helps the new Insignia VXR SuperSport fire to 60mph in just 5.9 seconds. At the top, we know this twin-turbo V6 supercar is capable of a fairly astonishing 170mph, while big brakes and computer controlled suspension keep this quick one firmly on the path of choice.
See it in the metal on the Vauxhall stand at Frankfurt, but don't blink; you'll miss it!
