Peugeot are making their already rather nippy RCZ coupe all the more potent, with news of a full-power 260bhp model coming soon to the UK. The popular curvy coupe can already be enjoyed with a 200bhp turbocharged petrol engine, and now, with the black and mean-looking RCZ R, that same 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder 'THP' motor has been tuned to a heady 260bhp.
The THP engine was recently awarded the International Engine of the Year 2013 for the seventh year in succession, and is clearly showing its built-in flexibility with this impressive power increase for the RCZ R. Peugeot hasn't confirmed the full performance stats as yet, but with this significant power on tap, the RCZ R will be nothing but fast and fun. Another boon is that CO2 will sit at a lowly 155g/km.
Putting this power down on the road will be a bespoke suspension set-up and a new alloy wheel design, as well as a motorsport-inspired Torsen limited slip front differential. The flat, low and wide RCZ R should corner with sporting zing, too.
The new Peugeot RCZ R will go on show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, ahead of a full UK launch later in the year.
