The Alfa Romeo 4C was only launched earlier this year but already it has won two awards and set a lap record of Mondello Park.
It won "Performance Car of the Year 2015" in the inaugural Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP) Car and Van of the Year Awards, "Overall Best Car" award in the Sunday Times Ireland as well as others.
The "Overall Best Car" award takes all cars onsale in Ireland into account and they are judged over criteria such as practicality, running costs and the driving pleasure.
The mid-engine performance car with its carbon-fibre chassis claimed the REV.ie production car lap record at Mondello Park racing in Ireland at the start of the year. The REV.ie is a petrol head enthusiast website offering news, motorsport updates and reviews of high-performance road cars.
Motoring media were given the opportunity to take the 4C out for a spin on public roads over several days to get a feel for the cars abilities.
The car was recognised for its advanced, lightweight materials with its astonishing performance and handling characteristics. As well as this, the 4C shined with its lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.
Built at the Maserati plant in Modena, the 4C employs the latest technologies of the brands newest models with its 1750 Turbo Petrol engine, dry twin clutch transmission and the Alfa DNA driving mode selector.
Chairperson Michael Sherdian (RT� Motors) commented on the Performance Car of the Year win: "The Alfa Romeo 4C is outrageous fun to drive. With supercar looks at a fraction of the cost, Alfa Romeo has a true star with its pocket-rocket 4C."
