Choice is the word with the new Vauxhall ADAM

The new Vauxhall ADAM, which the Luton-based manufacturer believes is the last word in "urban chic", can be personalised in more than one million ways.

ADAM comes with what Vauxhall has described as an "up-market" design, which included a two-tone "floating roof".

The claims come as the car giant releases the first official pictures of the innovative model.

Mark Adams, Vauxhall/Opel's vice-president of design, said of the new car: "No other car in this segment can be individualised as much as ADAM because we are offering virtually unlimited exterior/interior colour, fabric and kit combination choices.

"It's very unlikely that you'll find two identical ADAMs out there."

Vauxhall has used premium materials for the motor, which takes styling tips from other cars available in the luxury sector.

ADAM, a three-door, four-seater city car, will be officially unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motorshow and is scheduled to be available in UK showrooms early next year.

The innovation put into the car is not exclusive to its exterior, however, with those getting behind the wheel also set to benefit from a range of new internet-based apps and a new advanced safety system.

ADAM, the "classy, sophisticated and glamorous" addition to the Vauxhall line-up has borrowed heavily from its stable mates too.

The carmaker explained that the crisp lines around the door handle are taken from the GTC, while the wing-shaped chrome grille bar mimics that of the new-look Astra, as does the "blade shape" in the lower doors.

Vauxhall has also confirmed that the ADAM will be the first car in its class to have the option of LED daytime running lights.

Available in three trim levels - JAM, GLAM and SLAM - Vauxhall believes drivers looking for new car deals will be able to pick an ADAM that perfectly suits their needs.

Meanwhile, Vauxhall has also announced the launch of the new limited edition 'Black Edition' Corsa, which it claims shows of the "dark side" of the popular motor.
