Van drivers looking to reduce their carbon footprints and improve their bank balance could be tempted to get behind the wheel of the Citroen Berlingo.
The French manufacturer recently boasted that its Stop & Start technology means that drivers of the Berlingo automatically comply with Transport for London's (TfL) latest air quality advice.
TfL's current Switch Off Your Engine campaign urges drivers to switch off their engines when idling in order to reduce emissions.
Citroen claims that its e-HDi micro-hybrid Stop & Start technology improves fuel consumption by up to 15 per cent in urban driving conditions.
Scott Michael, manager of the firm's Commercial Vehicle Operations, explained: "Citroen has a track record of producing low emitting LCVs and we are now offering van buyers even lower emission alternatives.
"With lower emissions and lower running costs too, it’s a win-win deal for van owners and the environment."
