Recently confirmed for sale in the UK, Citroen’s AMI is the recipient of the ‘EV Innovation Award’ in this year’s WhichEV Awards.
The AMI’s win at the WhichEV Awards follows a number of successes this year, including being named ‘Microcar of the Year' at the GQ Car Awards 2021 and receiving the annual ‘Technology Award’ at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2021.
Citroen introduced the AMI as a response to the challenges of future urban mobility, with a focus on environmental awareness.
With a range of up to 46 miles and a 5.5kWh battery, the Citroen AMI provides city dwellers with a new and efficient, zero emissions method of transportation.
In addition to the AMI’s success, the Citroen e-Dispatch has been crowned the ‘Best Electric Van’ and is available with either a 50kWh or a 75kWh battery, with the latter offering a range of up to 205 miles from a single charge.
The Citroen e-Dispatch provides drivers with a maximum load volume of 6.6m3 and the Moduwork front passenger seat allows for longer items to be carried.
The New e-Dispatch supports up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80% re-charge taking just 30 minutes on 50kWh versions and 45 minutes on 75kWh models.
Lastly, the New Citroen e-C4 is the recipient of an honourable mention in WhichEV’s ‘Best Crossover EV’ category.
The New Citroen e-C4 is powered by a 50kWh battery and has an impressive WLTP electric range of up to 217 miles from a full charge.
Commenting on the awards, Andrzej Bania, Co-Founder of WhichEV, commented: "In typical Citroen style, the AMI represents not just innovation within the genre of electric cars, but a rethinking of e-mobility.”
Eurig Druce, Managing Director of Citroen UK, commented: "I was very pleased to hear that Citroen has once again been recognised for the quality and excellence of our electrified products.”
"The recognition we have received from WhichEV shows the sheer breadth of 100%-electric vehicles offered by the Citroen brand, with awards for our recently announced two-seat mobility solution, AMI, all the way up to our mid-size e-Dispatch van. This is offering is set to expand still further with all Citroen models to be offered with an electrified powertrain by 2025."
