Completing the trio of awards, the Citroen Ami was also presented with the DrivingElectric ‘Innovation Award.’
Recognising the best electric and hybrid vehicles available in the UK, the 2022 Driving Electric Awards are judged by a panel of experts who have driven thousands of miles behind the wheels of the UK’s latest electric models.
Citroen is one of the few manufacturers in the UK that is able to offer battery electric versions of its entire LCV line-up and will offer a choice of electrified variants across all of its models by 2025.
Featuring a 50kWh battery offering up to 171 miles of range, the new e-Berlingo Van supports up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80% charge taking as little as 30 minutes.
With a load capacity of 4.4m3 and a maximum payload of up to 803kg, the new Citroen e-Berlingo meets the needs of many fleets and SME users.
Richard Ingram, Editor of DrivingElectric, commented: “The Citroen e-Berlingo Van – along with its Peugeot, Vauxhall and Toyota stablemates – raises the bar when it comes to small electric vans.
“Excellent performance, versatility and charging performance make this a commercial vehicle suitable for the many, not the few. The fact it’s also available with seven seats for eco-conscious family buyers is the icing on the cake.”
Available with either a 50kWh or 75kWh battery, the e-Dispatch provides up to 205 miles of range and offers drivers a payload of up to 1,004kg.
Richard Ingram, commented: “The Citroen e-Dispatch is one of the best commercial vehicles you can buy. Using tried-and-tested technology from the Citroen e-C4, the e-Dispatch not only feels like a car to drive, it charges like one too; 100kW is standard across the range.
“With a choice of batteries and a maximum volume of 6.6 cubic metres, it’s an incredibly talented electric van.”
Lastly, the Citroen Ami Electric received the DrivingElectric ‘Innovation Award.’ Featuring a 5.5kWh battery, the Citroen Ami Electric offers a range of 46 miles and can be recharged in just three hours.
Eurig Druce, Citroen UK’s Managing Director, commented: “It’s fantastic to receive these awards from DrivingElectric, for two of our e-LCV models and the all-new Ami Electric quadricycle.
These models form part our strategy to offer electrified variants across our entire vehicle line-up by 2025, with new e-Berlingo Van and e-Dispatch already forming part of our fully-electric e-LCV range.”
