The new electrified SUV marks Dacia’s entry into the C-SUV segment and promises more than any Dacia that’s come before it.
The All-New Dacia Bigster was originally announced in January 2021 and is a first for Dacia in many ways.
For starters, it’s the brand’s first C-SUV model. It’s also tailored to meet motorists' modern demands. Offering uncompromising style, practicality, and performance.
Read on for everything you need to know about the new model.
The Dacia range has long been recognised for its rugged, practical styling. After all, Robust and Outdoor are two of the brand’s values. The All-New Dacia Bigster is no exception, though it goes beyond expectations when it comes to style.
Exterior features to note include large wings over the alloy wheels, which themselves are 17” or 18” as standard. With the top-of-the-range Journey trim, these are increased to 19”. A gloss black grille with the iconic Dacia Link creates a distinctive front face, as well as the sculpted, horizontal bonnet.
The body protection is made from Starkle, a new sustainable untreated, unpainted material developed by Dacia. With a new metallic body colour – Indigo Blue – the All-New Dacia Bigster stands out for all the right reasons.
Narrow front and rear lights set at the far edges highlight its assertive stance, leaving a lasting impression from all angles.
Inside, the All-New Dacia Bigster offers an ergonomic cabin with a high-mounted vertical dashboard for more space. Below this is a 10.1” central touchscreen and a 7” or 10” digital instrument cluster to keep you both informed and connected.
It offers exceptional space for all passengers, with rear occupants gaining best-in-class legroom. Other features include an acoustic windscreen and thicker glazing for less noise, and lumbar support. There’s also dual-zone air conditioning at the front and rear.
Sustainably made, the All-New Dacia Bigster uses almost 20% recycled plastics, with no leather or chrome used inside. Even the user manual is smaller to help reduce paper use, with a complete interactive digital version available on the My Dacia App and the website.
With accessories like the Sleep Pack, the All-New Dacia Bigster can be made ready for any adventure. The pack includes a double bed that can be stored inside the boot and easily set up in minutes. There’s also the Roof pack which offers modular roof bars in a range of positions for safely carrying luggage in roofboxes.
Other accessories include:
As for storage, the All-New Dacia Bigster is well-equipped for longer journeys. There’s up to 667 litres of boot space as standard under the parcel shelf, while the 40/20/40 rear bench seat can be altered to fit longer items. An Easy Fold function makes it simple to fold the rear backrests from the boot.
With Dacia’s new YouClip accessory range, there’s a place for everything inside the All-New Dacia Bigster. These allow you to conveniently store a range of items around the passenger compartment.
There are four YouClip points as standard, located on the dashboard, the rear of the centre console, in the boot, and inside the boot door. You can add two further points to the headrest support if you wish.
These can be used as a tablet holder, storage pouch, phone holder, coat hanger, and more. There’s even a 3-in-1 device that combines a cup holder, bag hook, and portable flashlight, standard on Extreme models.
The All-New Dacia Bigster will be available in Expression, Extreme, and Journey trims. Standard features included with each trim are:
Expression
Extreme
Journey
The All-New Dacia Bigster is the first in the range to receive Dacia’s new electrified powertrains. These include:
All-New Bigster Hybrid 155
The Hybrid 155 combines a 107bhp four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors, a 1.4kWh battery, and an automatic gearbox. There are four gears for the ICE engine and two for the electric motors, with no clutch featured inside.
Complementing the existing Hybrid 140 range with the All-New Duster and Jogger, this delivers up to 15bhp more power and up to 20Nm more torque. It also offers a greater towing capacity of up to around one tonne, along with a 6% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions.
With the help of regenerative braking and high energy recovery capacity, the Hybrid 155 charges itself on the go. It can remain in all-electric mode up to 80% of the time and always starts up in electric mode.
All-New Bigster TCe 140
Based on the All-New Duster’s TCe 130 powertrain, the TCe 140 combines a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
There’s a six-speed manual gearbox, and the hybrid system kicks in during the start-up and acceleration phases. This helps deliver a smoother drive while reducing average fuel consumption to 5.6 l/100km and CO2 emissions to 129g/km.
The TCe 140 also uses regenerative braking to recharge the 0.8kWh battery negating the need to plug in and recharge as with other hybrids.
All-New Bigster TCe 130 4x4
Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 48V mild-hybrid system, the TCe 130 4x4 offers maximised efficiency. The hybrid system supports a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine during the start-up and acceleration stages as with the TCe 140.
Similarly, it also self-charges through the process of regenerative braking. With Terrain Control 4x4 transmission, this powertrain offers a range of driving modes including:
