Ford has released its biggest hint yet that the New year will see the Blue Oval announce a Fiesta-based SUV.
Media reports suggest that the firm is to unveil a new concept vehicle at the Delhi show in January.
While a Fiesta-inspired SUV has been the subject of many rumours in recent months, images recently released by the firm suggest the model could soon be on forecourts.
According to industry publication Auto Express, the vehicle will borrow heavily from the Ford Vertrek concept.
"Much of the styling is inspired by the Vertrek concept seen at January’s Detroit expo. It gets the same multi-layered headlights, sculpted bonnet and lowered roofline," the magazine explained.
"There will also be a wide range of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol line-up will include two versions of the firm's efficient EcoBoost turbo engines: a new three-cylinder 90bhp 1.0-litre unit and the powerful 1.6-litre from the bigger Focus."
Last month, Ford announced that the Zetec S, the sportiest Focus to date, has been added to its current line-up.
