Motorists in the market for a new car with green credentials could be among those interested in the latest noises being made by Hyundai.
The firm has announced that it is going green with a new version of its popular i30 model.
With CO2 emissions of less than 100 grams per kilometre, the car will appeal to those looking to reduce their carbon footprint when out on the road.
Industry commentators have voiced their faith in the new model, with Auto Express saying Hyundai could have a genuine rival to Ford's latest Focus ECOnetic on its hands.
"Efficiency gains will come from stop-start technology, low-rolling-resistance tyres, a special engine management system and a revamped version of the company's 1.6-litre diesel engine," the magazine explained.
"Bosses are staying tight-lipped on fuel economy and emissions figures, confirming only that CO2 output will dip below the 100g/km mark. But they say the diesel will churn out an impressive 126bhp."
This, Hyundai clams, will give the new i30 the best power-to-economy ratio of its class.
