Since it’s launch back in 2017, the Hyundai Kona has become one of the brand’s most popular models, with 228,000 units being sold in Europe. It’s won numerous awards in the last 3 years and plays an important part in Hyundai’s electrification strategy, establishing a practical and stylish vehicle with multiple electric powertrain options.
Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, Vice President Marketing & Product of Hyundai Motor Europe, said: “Customers are demanding more SUVs and electrified solutions – Hyundai is responding with a combination of both. As one of our most popular models, Kona has played a key role in Hyundai’s success in Europe in recent years. This is why it is important to us to continually enhance and improve this model – so we can continue delivering the best possible product to our customers.”
Let’s take a look at some of the new features.
It’s always been known for its bold, progressive design, but Hyundai has made the new Kona stand out even more with a striking new exterior style.
Whilst still hinting to its signature look, the new Kona features a sportier front end, with robust cladding panels for extra protection and enhanced style. The bonnet is sculpted to perfection, drawing the eye to the new, piercing LED headlights that will illuminate even the darkest of roads. The shape of the grille not only improves the overall look, but it also improves airflow into the vehicle, optimising performance and overall driving experience.
The rear end mirrors the sporty style of the front, with the bold rear bumper following the protective armour concept, creating a muscular style, whilst improving safety.
There are five new exterior colour options to choose from, including Ignite Flame and Misty Jungle, for the perfect finishing touch.
Rugged, yet refined, the interior cabin of the new Kona boasts a sophisticated vibe, capable of making every day driving easier.
It’s spacious and practical, making it the ultimate vehicle for those with active lifestyles, and Hyundai has made sure to pack it full of the latest technology to keep drivers connected and entertained on every journey.
New materials have been utilised to optimise comfort, whilst the latest driver aid systems have been installed, including the electric parking brake, to make life easier. The second row also features heated seats, so everyone can enjoy a cosy journey in all weathers.
It’s been designed with the driver in mind. Everything is user-friendly, with controls and buttons at arm’s reach for easy accessibility. The wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay system means drivers and passengers can now connect their smartphone without the hassle of getting tangled up, and its fully equipped with climate control, smart cruise control, and eCall to make it a safer and more pleasurable experience for everyone.
Sharper and sportier, the Hyundai Kona N Line is even more striking, and delivers a dynamic performance that will put the fun back into driving. Instead of the rugged skid plate of the new Kona, the N Line version features a unique N-style aerodynamic lip with low-lying corner fins for a road-hugging appearance. Large air intake features are further distinguished by a unique mesh design and surface treatment to improve overall air flow.
Available with an array of powertrain options, including mild hybrid and hybrid, the new Kona will provide a powerful and efficient journey every time.
Arriving at the end of the year, the New Hyundai Kona will be hitting UK roads in no time.
