The new car, being created under licence from Ford, will feature continuation chassis numbers and will be strictly limited to just 150 models – but comes at a price.
Dubbed a ‘continumod’ – described as a combination of ‘the timeless spirit of classic cars with modern engineering, design, and advanced manufacturing’ – the car will be available with a choice of two engine options with prices starting at £295,000.
Due to the agreement with Ford, all cars will be new builds rather than based around a donor vehicle, and will come with a two year, 20,000 mile warranty.
Standard models will come with a 1.8 litre twin-cam engine delivering 185bhp and a four-speed straight cut gearbox, with the option of upgrading to a 2.1 litre motorsport engine producing almost 300bhp – which comes mated to a five-speed dog leg gearbox.
Although there are a number of modern day upgrades to maximum performance, the car will come without many of the drivers aids that are now seen as standard – such as a power steering, ABS or traction control – in order to provide the lucky owners with a ‘visceral driving experience’.
