Meet the newest addition to the CUPRA family – the Terramar. The mid-sized SUV was unveiled by the Spanish manufacturer last month and marks the start of a new design era.
With a bold look, a range of powertrains, and the latest technology, CUPRA is trying to appeal to a wider audience with the Terramar.
Find out everything you need to know about the new model below.
To help with CUPRA’s aim of reaching a wider audience, the Terramar offers a range of powertrain options. It will be available with a mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or petrol engine.
The mild-hybrid engine combines a 48V battery with a 1.5 litre 150PS engine. Set to deliver impressive efficiency, it recoups energy through regenerative braking. As well as offering a small electric range.
If you decide to opt for the petrol offering, there are two 2.0 litre TSI options to choose from. Available with outputs of 204PS or 265PS, you can tailor the engine to your needs. The 265PS engine is available on the Terramar VZ trim level.
Finally, the plug-in hybrid powertrain is ideal if you are looking to dip your toes into the electric world. Available with power outputs of 204PS or 272PS, you can enjoy a range of up to 75 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
Charging is also made effortless – whether you want to quickly power up with a 50kW fast charger or at home using a 11kW wallbox. The decision is yours.
Taking its name from the Terramar racetrack, the exterior design reflects this with sports styling. The long and wide bonnet creates a strong, athletic design. While distinguishable rear lights and integrated 3D logo make the Terramar striking from every angle.
A range of body colour options are available including:
To complete the look, a range of 18, 19, and 20” wheel options are available which incorporate CUPRA’s signature copper accents.
Choose from three interior characters – Deep Ocean, Moon Light and High Canyon. All place sustainability at the forefront. Inside the dark blue Deep Ocean interior, PVC bucket seats contain recycled marine plastics.
Whereas the dark grey Moon Light interior uses at least 73% recycled polyester within the seats. Inside the deep burgundy High Canyon interior, leather bucket seats use a plant-based tanning process.
Interior lighting also creates a unique ambience with smart lights in the dashboard and backlit front and rear door panels.
But it’s not all about looks – the Terramar is extremely practical too. With sliding rear seats, you can increase the boot capacity to up to 602 litres.
The driver-centric interior of the CUPRA Terramar puts you first. Behind the steering wheel is a new and improved digital cockpit. As well as a 12.9” infotainment system. While the head-up display places all important information firmly in your eyeline.
It’s also packed with advanced technology to make every drive a breeze. Intelligent Park Assist is great for manoevering into tight spaces - simply pull up and let the Terramar steer into the parking spot.
Stay connected on the road with CAR2X technology. This offers real-time traffic updates and the ability to send and receive updates about accidents or breakdowns.
If you opt for the plug-in hybrid model, you can remotely control the temperature of your car from the MyCUPRA app.
Driver assistance features include Travel Assist which helps you to drive centrally in your lane. As well as adaptive cruise control and attention and drowsiness assistant.
While orders for the CUPRA Terramar are not yet open, it’s expected to be available to order before the end of this year. First customer deliveries will then begin in 2025.
