Model receives support from Parker's.
The Vauxhall Insignia has been named Family Estate Car of 2011 by Parker's.
Using its 'cost of motoring' tool, which assesses the true cost of car maintenance, the company recognised the Insignia 2.0 CDTi 160 ecoFLEX Exclusiv as practical and good value for money.
Judges noted the model's balance of stylish design and affordability - two qualities that are essential for family buyers.
The Vauxhall Insignia has an average fuel consumption of 55.4mpg combined and won the European Car of the Year award in 2009.
Parker's editor Kieren Puffet said: "What really impresses is that [the Insignia] proves delivering on a big, spacious estate doesn't have to mean expensive bills."
He added that the car's practicality would please many family motorists.
A reviewer for Honest John labelled the Vauxhall Insignia as a "good looking family saloon and hatch", praising its innovative features and choice of engines.
