Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Chesterfield is celebrating after handing over the keys to its 3000th Motability vehicle to long-standing customer, Jonathan Baker.
Jonathan, a wheelchair user, has taken delivery of a brand new Vauxhall Zafira Tourer, which has been specially adapted with wheel-mounted hand controls, allowing him to control acceleration and braking easily. It is his seventh vehicle acquired through Motability during the 17 years he used the scheme.
Bristol Street Motors is able to provide a range of adaptations, many funded by Motability, to enable our customers to control everything including accelerating, braking and changing gear, all from the steering wheel.
Amanda Webster, Motability Specialist at Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Chesterfield, said: “It’s fantastic to have reached this milestone. Ensuring that customers receive the very best service is always our top priority, which is why we have so many customers returning time and time again.
“Jonathan has been a long-standing customer of mine for almost 10 years now and it’s fantastic to have him drive away in the 3000th vehicle we’ve sold as part of the Motability Scheme.”
Jonathan said: “Amanda and the whole team at Bristol Street Motors are fantastic and always make sure that I have everything I need. The Motability Scheme has been a life saver for me, and means that I have much greater independence and freedom.”
The Motability scheme enables disabled people to exchange their Higher Rate Motability Component of Disability Living Allowance, their Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), their War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or their Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) for a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. Since it was set up in 1978, Motability has helped more than 3 million people get mobile with a brand new vehicle. Many of the vehicles are available on Motability from Nil advance payment.
