The Vauxhall Corsa has been named Best Supermini at the 2011 Next Green Car Awards.
According to the publication, the 1.3 CDTi EcoFlex model offers drivers a "value green car" that is "great to drive".
The model also boasts "improved styling and delivers fantastic fuel economy without cutting back on comfort or safety features", it added.
Other winners this year included the Ford Focus Estate 1.6 TDCi, which picked up the top prize in the Family Estate category, and the Renault Scenic, which scooped top spot in the MPV sector.
Dr Ben Lane, managing editor of Next Green Car, commented: "The 2011 winners reflect the latest technologies being used by manufacturers to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, which range from the ground-breaking drive-train of the Ampera, to the clean-diesel innovations such as 'start-stop', 'regen-braking' and catalysed particulate filters."
This year's ceremony also saw the Renault Clio 1.5 dCi Eco, Hyundai i10 1.0-litre and the Nissan LEAF Electric commended for their green credentials.
