Owners of a Nissan Micra can now access vital vehicle information by simpling touching the screen of their smartphone.
The iManual is intended to simplify the lives of drivers and allow them to learn more about their car in a simple and straightforward way.
It is available on both iOS and Android smartphones and will be available for the all New Micra models.
The app also has a unique feature that uses visual recognition software, allowing the owner to identify dashboard symbols and switches just by using the phone's camera.
A recent survey by Nissan revealed that only 57 per cent of drivers had ever consulted the manual, while only 13 per cent have looked at it more than once.
It is hoped the app will encourage drivers to discover more about their car and use the information provided to ensure it continues to run safely and to its full potential.
Guillaume Masurel, Nissan GB marketing director, said car manuals are often "the most useful but least used resource" vehicle owners have.
“While automotive design and technology has evolved, the car manual has failed to follow suit and during this digital age we feel there’s a huge opportunity to empower our customers and really enable them to understand what’s happening both above and below their car’s exterior,” he added.
