The inaugural BusinessCar Crossover of the Year award has been presented to the Nissan Qashqai, to the Japanese manufacturer's delight.
Readers of the popular publication praised the Qashqai as presenting drivers with "distinctive looks" which are sure to catch the eye, on top of "a drive that surpasses expectations".
The vehicle, which is built on British shores at Nissan's production plant in Sunderland, was also applauded for the series of effective updates that have been added to it in recent months.
One standout addition brought up by BusinessCar readers was the introduction of a 130PS 1.6-litre diesel engine option, with the motor capable of delivering the Qashqai with 62.8mpg and restricting its CO2 emissions to a mere 119g/km.
Jon Pollock, the corporate sales director of Nissan, acknowledged: "We're delighted to win the inaugural BusinessCar Crossover of the Year award.
"The Qashqai has been a strong seller to fleets and residuals have remained strong, a trend we expect to continue through 2013 as fleets recognise the growing size and attractiveness of this sector."
