Japanese car giant Nissan used the recent Le Mans 24-hour endurance event as a platform to raise some much-needed cash for armed forces charities.
The carmaker donated £1 for every mile covered by the 14 Nissan-powered cars taking part in the famous race.
Money raised by the firm will be donated to SSAFA, the Afghanistan Trust and Mission Motorsport.
A combined total of 31,732.07 miles were covered by the cars, meaning £31,732 will be split between the charities.
Jim Wright, Nissan Motor GB managing director, said: "It is a fantastic achievement that nine of the 13 Nissan-powered LMP2 cars completed one of the toughest races in the world.
"It was a shame that the popular Nissan DeltaWing's time on track was cut short given that it was running so well, but we are very proud that the speed and reliability of our engines has helped raise a significant donation for three wonderful charities."
Former F1 driver Martin Brundle was a standout contender at the race after placing eighth alongside his son Alex and Nissan PlayStation GT Academy winner Lucas Ordonez after completing 2,879.34 miles over 340 laps.
