Nissan is no stranger to innovation and the latest development from the manufacturer is certainly set to open people's eyes.
It has unveiled its latest rearview mirror technology that intends to increase visibility for drivers when out on the road.
Utilising a rear camera connected to an LCD monitor, drivers will be able to get an unobstructed view of the rear flanks, making it easier to assess the traffic conditions and to see blind spots.
The camera projects a clear image onto the monitor to provide a more comfortable driving experience, but drivers can switch to the conventional mirror if they wish.
According to Nissan, the innovation will offer a clear, crisp image in a number of different conditions, including rain, snow, dawn and dusk. It will also deliver a much wider angle view than what is offered by standard mirrors.
The technology will be introduced to consumers at the upcoming 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
