The PEUGEOT 208 took the top spot in the ‘Supermini of the Year’ category, whilst the PEUGEOT 5008 was crowned ‘SUV of the Year’ for the fifth consecutive year.
The Company Car Today awards select winners from the CCT100 list, which is the magazine's run-down of the best fleet vehicles. The list is created by an expert judging panel that evaluate models based on key criteria such as running costs, efficiency, practicality and car park appeal.
The PEUGEOT 5008 wowed judges once again, with its spacious interior, capable of carrying seven adults as standard, and a practical cabin that features award-wining technology via the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit. The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit features a plethora of useful connectivity and safety measures, such as Night Vision, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Active Blind Spot Detection. Plus, the efficient petrol and diesel engine options make it appealing for fleet operators looking to keep fuel costs down.
The PEUGEOT 208 is also appealing from this perspective, with a choice of efficient diesel or petrol engines and now the 100% electric e-208 model.
The e-208 has a 50kWh battery connected to a 100kW electric motor, and is capable of up to 225 miles of range from a single charge (WLTP). The vehicle also supports 100kW rapid charging, meaning its battery can be boosted from 0-80% in just 30 minutes. Plus, its eye-catching design is bound to capture attention on the roads.
Paul Barker, Editor of Company Car Today said: “An ever-increasing quality of cabin and design, and a diversity of powertrain, is evident in a pair of CCT100 award wins for PEUGEOT, with the 208 showing that affordable running costs can combine with a premium-level interior and good looks in the supermini segment. The 5008 continues to dominate our SUV of the Year class, taking the prize for the fifth year in a row thanks to its practicality, great interior, good running costs and technology.”
