Renault is launching a new urban crossover entitled the Captur that blends MPVs, SUVs and hatchbacks into one distinctive vehicle.
The car's unique experience is underlined by its large wheels, generous ground clearance and its forward-set windscreen. What's more, the vehicle can be highly personalised to ensure that it is individual to the driver, who can choose between a variety of two-tone bodywork permutations, wheel colours, upholstery fabrics and graphic decals to appeal to their tastes.
Inside, the cabin is incredibly spacious and chock-full of features that drivers of cars such as these have come to expect. This includes a Renault R-Link multimedia tablet set in the dashboard, which ensures those behind the wheel can stay connected and also have access to a wide range of helpful motoring apps.
The driving position is also slightly raised, allowing for utmost comfort and confidence whether snaking around country lanes or traversing urban environments. Meanwhile, its safety features, road holding and braking performance are also second to none.
Under the bonnet, the Captur offers excellent power and fuel economy, with buyers able to choose from an all-turbo engine line-up. This includes the petrol engine Energy TCe 90 and the brand new TCe 120 EDC, which comes with efficient dual-clutch transmission to provide excellent driving comfort.
"Captur is a distillation of Renault's constantly inventive approach to the small car segment. The Captur project inspired a fast-spreading passion within the project teams, and it is this enthusiasm that Renault wants to bring to the market thanks to its new crossover," said Ali Kassai, programme vice-president of the A/B range at Renault.
The car is being manufactured in Renault's Valladolid plant in Spain, where the firm is paying particular attention to the Captur's quality and environmental record. As much as 16 per cent of the plastic used in production will be recycled, which is considered an outstanding achievement.
Orders for the Captur are being taken from May 1st in the UK.
