Renault has recently given its popular supermini a refresh, introducing the new E-TECH Plug-in hybrid technology to enhance efficiency and reduce emissions.
Judges commended the all-new Clio for its all-round package, praising the design, intelligence and performance of the hatchback.
Commenting on the Clio’s success, Steve Fowler, Auto Express editor-in-chief, said: “The supermini class is one of the toughest parts of the market, but the new Clio has risen to the top. It offers quality in-car tech, impressive cabin space and luggage room comparable to far larger models. But perhaps its strongest suit is that big-car feel; it’s smooth, quiet and comfortable on the move with eager, yet economical engines, and compliant suspension. It’s the way it combines all these attributes so convincingly at such an affordable price that makes the Renault Clio our favourite supermini."
It wasn’t the only Renault model to take home silverware this year. The All-New Captur, the Zoe and the Alpine A110 were also recognised, bringing home the Small SUV of the Year, Affordable Electric Car of the Year and Coupe of the Year titles.
Vincent Tourette, Managing Director, Groupe Renault UK, said: “We are absolutely delighted to collect these awards and that Auto Express has recognised Groupe Renault for its class-leading excellence across a broad range of vehicles. These accolades are an excellent illustration of how we strive to meet today’s mobility challenges, while still providing customers with affordable, quality vehicles that deliver a high level of driver enjoyment.”
