The first images show a glimpse of the new subcompact crossover SUV before its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show on 14th October.
Renault is on a mission to create affordable electric cars that deliver uncompromised efficiency. From the Renault Scenic E-Tech – voted Car of The Year 2024, to the Rafale E-Tech, and Renault 5 E-Tech – named ‘Best Car of The Year’ ahead of its release.
The new Renault 4 E-Tech 100% electric continues the range's growth. A highly anticipated compact crossover electric SUV with a unique design and versatile features. With the first images now revealed ahead of the new model’s debut, read on for what to expect!
Reclaiming old model names appears to be part of Renault’s strategy, with both the Renault 4 and Renault 5. The Renault 4 was originally a family car launched in 1961, with a front-mounted engine and flat floor with the absence of a transmission tunnel.
It offered a spacious interior with the practicality for a range of uses – from city to country driving, for both shorter and longer commutes.
It was for these reasons that the Renault 4 became an instant hit, becoming the number-one choice in over 100 countries. Over 8 million models were produced.
The Renault 4 E-Tech 100% electric shares its predecessor’s compact size, measuring 4.14 metres long, taking various design cues from it too. Let’s take a look at the highlights!
Oblong grille
Round LED headlamps sit at either end, connected by an illuminated rim. The Renault emblem is backlit for the first time, giving a modern take on the original.
4 logo
Situated at the tailgate, the soft-sheened emblematic 4 logo proudly displays its namesake.
Tail lights
A nod to the 4L’s three-part, pill-shaped tail lights yet with advanced technology. These leave a lasting impression of the Renault 4, refined by a shiny black outline.
Quarter window
Adding a touch of old to new, with the Renault 4’s signature trapezoidal quarter windows. These are positioned above the rear wheels.
Sculpted lines
Reminiscent of the plastic shielding on later 4L models, the sides feature three parallel sculpted lines.
Wings
Graphic wing design extending from the windscreen’s sides to the wheel arches. Reflecting the original Renault 4’s front fenders.
Spoiler
The roof shape is borrowed from the original Renault 4, enhanced with a spoiler at the far end.
Tailgate
The angled tailgate ends in a low-loading sill, one of the Renault 4 E-Tech’s staple features.
Bumpers
Replacing the 1960s chrome-plated bumpers, the front and end bumpers feature vertical overriders.
Retractable fabric roof
The fabric roof can be pulled open, allowing you to feel the rush of the wind.
