The new model is a joint project between Skoda UK and UTAC Special Vehicles security experts, based in Britain.
Skoda has taken passenger safety to a whole new level, with the development of the Kodiaq Armoured. Following the Superb Armoured, the latest model features a raft of safety systems, passing stringent safety tests.

With a new, high-tech design, the Skoda Armoured is practically indestructible. Fully certified to PAS 300 and PAS 301 Civilian Armoured Vehicle Standards, it takes occupant safety very seriously.
This certification is only awarded to vehicles that have passed several rigorous tests. These include payload, acceleration, maximum speed, handling, and braking.
To ensure maximum safety, the Skoda Armoured was subjected to several strength and durability tests. From over 200 rounds of ammunition, to assessing blast resistance at the vehicle side, roof and underfloor.
The Kodiaq Armoured met all criteria during testing. Proving its safety and reliability, while retaining a similar design to the original.
As well as a new design centred around occupant safety, the Kodiaq Armoured also receives updated driving dynamics.
Due to its increased weight, the Kodiaq Armoured is fitted with uprated suspension and braking systems. All while retaining the same agile driving characteristics drivers know and love.
Another impressive feature is a new tyre retention system in all four tyres. This prevents them from leaving the rim in the event of a puncture, even when deflated. In turn, this allows the driver to maintain control of the vehicle at all times.
In the technology department, there have also been a few key updates. The Kodiaq Armoured incorporates an emergency lighting and siren system into its design. Plus, a communications hub in the form of an 8” touchscreen with GPS, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Aside from its upgraded design, the Kodiaq Armoured still promises the same levels of comfort and practicality. Available as a five-seater, it offers plenty of interior space for passengers, along with a boot size of more than 2,000 litres. It’s also available in a range of powertrain options and four-wheel drive, along with other Skoda models.
The Kodiaq Armoured demonstrates Skoda’s pioneering role in developing next-generation safety technology. With over 500 Superb Armoured vehicles sold since its launch in 2018, the Kodiaq Armoured is sure to follow in its footsteps.
