The UK’s best-selling supermini in 2022 has been given an exciting upgrade for this year. Including a new front end, electric powertrain options, and innovative technologies.
The Vauxhall Corsa has long been one of the UK’s favourite cars as the hatchback we all know and love. It’s received a number of prestigious titles in recent years, including best-selling supermini in 2022, and the best-selling car overall in 2021.
In 2022, the Vauxhall Corsa-e Anniversary Edition was released celebrating 40 years of Vauxhall superminis, attesting to the Corsa’s longstanding success.
In the race towards electric motoring with supply and production limitations, some well-loved favourites like the Ford Fiesta have been left behind. Though with petrol, electric and hybrid options the New Corsa has been made fit for the future, whatever the road ahead.
Let’s take a look at some of the exciting features we can expect to see with the New Corsa when it’s released later this year.
Characteristic of new Vauxhall models, the front vizor feature brings together narrow LED headlights and the upgraded Griffin badge into a sleek, single panel. This also houses the advanced driver assistance and safety features.
Other styling upgrades include:
On the inside, you can also expect a larger 10” digital colour touchscreen comprising all your connectivity and infotainment, plus a 7” digital display with striking new graphics.
The New Corsa also features a newly designed steering wheel, along with new upholstery seat patterns and an updated shift lever.
The New Corsa has been made even more accessible with a range of powertrain options to suit all needs.
Drivers will now be able to choose between petrol, electric, or hybrid. The petrol engine is already highly efficient and suitable for those who prefer a conventional drive.
Meanwhile, there are now two electric powertrain options with the addition of a new 51kWh battery. Drivers can opt for the new 115kW (156PS) electric powertrain, or the existing 100kW (136PS) option.
The first offers up to 225 miles of range (WLTP) on a single charge, 15% higher than the previous 50kWh version. The current electric option offers a slightly lower range of 222 miles (WLTP).
As for powering up, the New Corsa understands the need for flexible, easy charging. All electric models offer an 11kW charger on-board providing a 0-100% charge in 5hrs and 15 minutes.
There are also alternative methods you can use to charge the New Corsa, including:
Later this year, the manufacturer will also introduce a 48-volt hybrid powertrain, which utilises regenerative braking to remove the need for plugging in to recharge.
Vauxhall has proven committed to improving the EV charging infrastructure over the last year, partnering with leading parking network JustPark.
In addition to a clean, crisp infotainment and connectivity set-up, the New Corsa will also offer a range of other functionality features to enhance your drive.
This includes wireless smartphone charging, with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Over-the-Air updates are also included to keep the 3D navigation system updated, along with intelligent voice control allowing drivers to use voice commands to perform actions on the go.
Not neglecting safety, the New Corsa also offers a range of advanced driver assistance features for a safer, smoother drive. These include a high-resolution rear-view camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection.
