The latest Britcare 24-hour Race, which took place at Silverstone at the weekend, was used by Mazda to demonstrate the quality of its MX-5 model.
All three of the Jota prepared Mazdas finished the endurance race, which sees drivers cover 1,830 miles of track.
While being put out of contention for a win early on, Graeme Fudge, PR director at Mazda UK, said that the Mazda MX-5 showed glimpses of its race credentials and proved that it is built for endurance.
"Although the MX-5 GT was put out of contention early on it demonstrated race winning pace and was matching, and beating, the pace of the established class leaders," he explained.
"What this race demonstrates is you do not need lots of power and money to get a good result in endurance racing, you just need a reliable car and drivers who know how to extract the maximum from the car."
