Upgraded Chevrolet Captiva spotted in India

The forthcoming Chevrolet Captiva will come in at least two versions, offering drivers varying degrees of luxury, it has been suggested.

Indian publication On Cars recently spotted two of the new vehicles in testing near GM's Halol plant in Gujarat.

According to the news provider, drivers can expect significantly different spec vehicles depending how far up the model line they are prepared to go.

The website explained that the top-of-the-line model will boast a touch screen dashboard control unit, seven seat configuration, clear-lens lighting and silver-finished scuff plates.

By way of comparison, the other model spotted, which will possibly be the entry-level option, was kitted out with standard full-colour lights, plain black scuff plates, standard black-moulding dash and just five seats.

The news comes as industry insiders speculate over the future of the Chevrolet Aveo.

Media reports suggest that 2012 will see the supermini given an SUV-style makeover, pitching it against Ford's forthcoming Fiesta SUV.
