British motorists will soon be able to get their hands on the all new Vauxhall Ampera.
And, if industry buzz is anything to go by, there will be a long line of driving enthusiasts looking to get behind the wheel of the impressive new motor.
Indeed, well-known motoring journalist Quentin Wilson recently described the hybrid vehicle as "a truly great car".
Writing for the Daily Mirror, he said: "[I am] loving my Vauxhall Ampera, which arrived this week. Apart from being hugely impressed by its silence, speed, smoothness and refinement, I've just cracked 100mpg.
"With a little luck and judicious use of the electric motor, I'm hoping to get a tankful to last me for three months. A truly great car."
But it's not just reviewers who are excited about the new Ampera, as hire firms and car-sharing initiatives are also looking to add the model to their fleets.
Global rental firm Hertz recently announced that its customers can now rent the motor, which boasts a "sophisticated propulsion system" from its on-demand EV car sharing fleet in London.
At the same time, Vauxhall has also teamed up with car-sharing firm Zipcar to offer the Ampera EV through its self-service, pay-as-you-go rental system.
Commenting on the Hertz deal, James Taylor, Vauxhall's fleet sales director, said: "At Vauxhall we are passionate about investing in state-of-the-art efficient technology so that customers have access to fun, stylish and more environmentally friendly mobility.
"The partnership with Hertz means that even more people can experience first-hand the latest in electric technology by renting the Ampera."
And if that's wasn't enough to get the car-buying public intrigued, the Vauxhall Ampera was also recently named 2012 Car of the Year at the Geneva Motor Show – one of the most respected events in the motoring industry.
