The upcoming Geneva Motor Show is set to see Vauxhall make a major unveiling, with the manufacturer obviously delighted with its latest innovation.
It is expected to be the most 'radical' version of the Astra to date and will be the fastest production model ever made in this guise.
The first image of the VXR EXTREME has now been released and the model looks like it's primed and ready for track performance.
It has taken a number of cues from the model that competed in the Nurburgring Endurance Championship and will be entirely street legal. In its standard form, Vauxhall says the car can achieve 280PS and 400Nm of torque.
Low body weight and an aerodynamic shell help to improve the speed and agility of the car, while safety is ensured through an integrated structure, racing seats and six-point safety belts.
The announcement and revelation of the car is released in conjunction with Vauxhall's celebrations of ten years of the VXR.
