Three senior colleagues at Vertu Motors plc have been honoured at the prestigious Autocar Great Women Awards 2024. This annual event, hosted in association with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), recognises and celebrates the most influential women in the British automotive industry.
Liz Cope, Chief Marketing Officer at Vertu Motors plc, was declared the overall winner of the Marketing category, showcasing her significant contribution and leadership that has consistently driven success in brand recognition and sales.
Part of the Vertu Motors group, Bristol Street Motors is ranked number one for brand awareness in England (April 2024, Dentsu Analytics). One of many marketing initiatives driving brand recognition is the Group’s partnership strategy, with sporting sponsorships including the EFL Trophy, now known as the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, alongside an ongoing partnership with EXCELR8 Motorsport, competing in the British Touring Car Championship as Team Bristol Street Motors, and Premier League Football Club, Burnley FC, to name just a few that are part of Vertu’s portfolio.
In addition to delivering multiple successful partnerships, Liz has led the marketing team to recent awards success, at both a brand and Group level. ‘Best Local Campaign’ (SEO) for Macklin Motors at the UK Search Awards 2023, and ‘Social Media of the Year’ for the Group at the MotorTrader Industry Awards, for the last two consecutive years, bring notable recognition across the Group for its marketing activities.
The inclusion of three Vertu Motors leaders in this year’s Autocar Great Women Awards further underscores the company's strong presence and influence within the industry.
Elaine Cole and Karen Anderson were also acknowledged among the Top 100 influential figures in the automotive industry. Elaine, serving as Commercial Director for the Group, was recognised in the Retail category, whilst Karen, Vertu Motors plc’s Chief Financial Officer, was honoured in the Finance category. Their expertise and dedication have been instrumental in propelling Vertu Motors to new heights, demonstrating excellence in their respective fields.
These remarkable achievements place them in the company of other esteemed industry leaders, including previous winners such as Alison Jones of Stellantis UK and Linda Jackson of Peugeot UK.
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors plc, commented: "We are immensely proud of Liz, Elaine, and Karen for their outstanding accomplishments and the well-deserved recognition they have received.
“Their leadership and commitment are vital to our continued success and serve as an inspiration across the automotive industry, and beyond."
