Al-Attiyah looking to continue progress in Citroen Ds3 WRC

Citroen Ds3 WRC driver Nasser Al-Attiyah has expressed his desire to continue his impressive start to the season with a points finish in Portugal.

The Qatari ace, who joined Citroen at the start of the new season, produced his best ever performance last time out alongside Giovanni Bernacchini.

However, Al-Attiyah has said he is keen to improve on the sixth place finish he managed in Mexico.

"What I need the most now is to rack up miles on the road to adapt to the demands of the car. I will be starting Rally de Portugal better equipped to do well," he explained.

"The first gravel rally helped me to learn a lot about the handling of the Ds3 WRC. I am going to try and do better and narrow the gap between myself and the top drivers."

Al-Attiyah has some way to go before he can challenge fellow Ds3 drivers Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen, who have started the season in electric form.
