Alex Gregory starts Vauxhall partnership with new Ampera
Olympic gold medal-winning rowing hero Alex Gregory MBE has started his new partnership with Vauxhall to promote the all new Ampera.
The top-of-the-range electric vehicle has been praised by the athlete for its low emissions, with environmental wellbeing an issue that is close to the 30-year-old's heart.
“I am really exciting about driving a brand new Vauxhall Ampera," he said. “I was very interested in working with Vauxhall and the Ampera because of its environmental link to myself and rowing on the open rivers."
In addition to reducing the need for fossil fuels, the electric car will also provide motorists with a voice activated sat nav with street level mapping, a audio/video DVD player, a hard drive device capable of storing 30GB of music and a Bose 'Energy Efficient Series' sound system.
Furthermore, when examining performance, the car can achieve a real-world battery range of 25-50 miles and can be charged using a 240V three point plug.
The assistance of a 1.4-litre petrol engine is able to push the car to a staggering 300-mile range.
Duncan Aldred, chairman of Vauxhall and the managing director of the company, said he is "very pleased" to be working with Mr Gregory.
“It is great to work with somebody who has achieved so much to such a high level. The Vauxhall Ampera is a car which pushes boundaries and goes further. These are certainly attributes we feel Alex demonstrates daily, challenging his limits and showing sheer determination,” he added. ?
