Bold new Ranger to be unveiled by Ford at Frankfurt
Ford's new Ranger pick-up is to make its European debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, boasting a bold new look, cutting edge technologies and enhanced new diesel engines.
Engine options on the new Ranger include a 160PS variant of Ford's latest 2.2-litre TDCi engine and the powerful 200PS five-cylinder 3.2-litre TDCi unit, both of which are available with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
Fuel efficiency has been improved by almost 17 per cent to 43.5mpg, due to Auto-Start-Stop, new final drive ratios and Electric Power Assisted steering. CO2 emissions are low for a pick-up, at 171g/km.
Advanced safety features including Lane Keeping Aid and Adaptive Cruise Control ensure that the occupants' safety is paramount and makes the Ranger one of the smartest pick-ups on the road.
Ford of Europe's vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service, Roelant de Waard, commented "With the stunning new Wildtrak at the pinnacle of the line-up, the new Ford Ranger provides customers with an unbeatable combination of four-wheel drive capability, stand-out styling and premium features like SYNC 2 connectivity. Ranger is ready for any challenge offering optimised fuel efficiency, towing and payload capacity, and class-leading wading capability."
Exterior design options on the new Ranger include a striking new signature colour Pride Orange, which can be matched with a unique interior with orange highlights.
