Bristol Street Motors has a proud tradition of supporting local community causes and this has been continued with the sponsorship of a youth football team in Chester-le-Street.

The firm's Preparation Centre in Darlington has announced that it is supporting a Chester-le-Street Town Under 13s football team, formally known as Riverside FC, for the third year in a row.

Alan Riddell, operations manager at Bristol Street Motors Preparation Centre, said the move reiterates the importance the firm places on boosting the local community.

"I think it is very important to be engaged in the local community, especially in an area where we have a presence," he said.

"Helping to give young people opportunities is something we value and we are thrilled to support the Chester-le-Street Town Under 13s team and hope they have a great season."

As a result of the financial support, the club has been able to purchase new football kits, which proudly display the name of the sponsor.

The significance of this help has not been lost on Greig Garrity, who has managed and coached the team for the last two years, and said that the sponsorship has helped the players to focus on their performances.

"We are extremely pleased with the help and support we have received from Bristol Street Motors," he said.

"This is the first youth team that I have managed after passing my Level One coaching certificate.  I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of lads and parents. I am very proud of the hard work the team put in week after week and the committed support from parents and sponsor is tremendous."

The team currently sits in fourth place in its division and recently reached the third round of the County Cup.
