Bristol Street Motors has wished the son of CMA General Manager Darren Murray the very best of luck as he embarks on a career as a professional footballer.

At 16-years-old, Daniel Murray has signed a deal with the npower Championship side that includes a two-year scholarship and a one-year professional contract that will see him develop under the watchful eye of new manager Stale Solbakken.

Wolves are among the favourites to gain promotion to the Barclays Premier League with Solbakken at the helm following successful stints managing in Germany, Denmark and Norway.

Commenting on his son's new adventure, proud father Mr Murray revealed that Daniel left home on Sunday (July 8th) in order to be based in Wolverhampton full-time on what was "a very emotional day".

"Let's hope he has a big season, Wolves academy has just been given category one status which is good news, this means he plays in a National league against the other category one academies like Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester United, Manchester City and a number of other top clubs," he said.

"He still has a long, long way to go, but he has achieved his goal of becoming a professional footballer and made me a very proud father."

Wolves' proven ability to get the best from its academy players means hopes will high for young Daniel, who will look to emulate the success of past members including Robbie Keane, who went on to play for Coventry, Leeds, Liverpool, Tottenham and Inter Milan.

Other success stories include England's Euro 2012 centre back Joleon Lescott, Matt Murray and Lee Naylor.

The chances of first team progression are also high at the club, with current players Wayne Hennessey, Danny Batth, Anthony Forde, Johnny Gorman, and Carl Ikeme all former academy members.

Here at Bristol Street Motors we hope you'll join us in following Daniel's career and wishing him all the luck in the world.
