BYD Add New Active and Boost Trims to BYD Dolphin Line-Up

The new entry-level trims make the BYD Dolphin an even more affordable EV option, without compromising on quality.

The BYD Dolphin is an award-winning electric hatchback sitting within the C-segment.
Previously, the trim options were Comfort and Design, though BYD has now introduced two entry-level trims, Active and Boost.
The new trims offer excellent value for money with the same industry-leading battery and generous levels of equipment.

The first in a series of Ocean-inspired models, the BYD Dolphin makes quite the statement. From its distinctive exterior style to its advanced driving technology.

Now, the agile, electric hatchback is set to become even more affordable with the addition of two new trims – Active and Boost.

The Active trim includes a 44.9kWh battery combined with a 70kW electric motor, offering a range of up to 211 miles (WLTP). As for the Boost trim, this also features a 44.9kWh battery paired with a 130kW motor, with a WLTP range of up to 193 miles.

The new trims make the BYD Dolphin more accessible to all, with prices starting from £26,195 OTR for the Active trim and £27,165 for the Boost.

Both can be charged from 30-80% in just 28 minutes using a 100kW DC charger. As with other trims, they are also equipped with a high-efficiency heat pump, which uses residual sources of heat to warm the cabin. In the winter, this boosts thermal efficiency by up to 15%, allowing you to heat the interior as you please without reducing the range.

Both trims are equipped with BYD’s industry-leading Blade Battery. This is a lithium-iron-phosphate battery rigorously tested in a range of extreme conditions. With the CRBS regenerative braking system, energy is saved by capturing energy lost when slowing down to charge the battery on the go.

Incorporating BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 technology, electric models like the BYD Dolphin achieve 89% efficiency. All while delivering an impressive driving experience and optimal performance.

Compact yet cleverly designed, the BYD Dolphin is a spacious five-seat hatchback perfect for the family. It features ergonomic sports seats inside – covered in vegan-friendly leather for a touch of luxury.

At the rear, passengers can enjoy ample legroom, while the seats can be split in a 60:40 ratio increasing the boot space from 345 litres to 1,310. Elsewhere, the Dolphin offers over 20 storage spaces to keep things tidy.

With Vehicle to Load technology, the BYD Dolphin can power other devices, ideal for camping or outdoor picnics. It’s also fitted with a range of advanced driver assistance systems for maximum safety, including:
