Citroen improves Berlingo payload
A popular commercial Citroen vehicle has been given a payload upgrade.
The unique Citroen Berlingo First now benefits from a payload of 749kg, instead of 600kg, and has subsequently been renamed the Berlingo First 750.
Boasting a 1.6-litre HDi Euro 4 engine and a combined fuel economy of 52.3 mpg, the model has also undergone suspension revisions and the addition of an underbody engine protection plate.
The modifications have seen the total weight of the Berlingo rise from 1,730kg to 1,955kg, while its braked trailer towing capacity has also been raised to 1,070kg.
Robert Handyside, Citroen commercial vehicle operations manager, said: "The well-proven Berlingo First is now an even better budget choice for van buyers.
"With its latest payload and towing gains, this van remains a practical and economical choice for a wide range of businesses."
The Citroen Berlingo First can carry loads up to 1.7m long and includes power steering and a CD player as standard.
