Citroen looking for flying start in Monte Carlo
The Citroen Total World Rally Team is looking to get the 2012 season off to a flying start at the Rallye Monte-Carlo.
Monte Carlo returns to the FIA World Rally Championship for the first time in three years and the new-look team will be aiming for a sixth victory at the event with two works Ds3 WRC crews.
The race will also be significant in that it will see Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen make their competitive debut for the team.
Earlier this month, new team boss Yves Matton highlighted his desire to continue Citroen's hot run of success in the sport and the Team Principal has said that Monte Carlo offers the perfect platform to start from.
"Our goals for the season are simple, yet difficult: keep our two world titles. The Rallye Monte-Carlo is the perfect place to start the season and I am proud to be leading the current World Champion Team," he commented.
"With ten wins in 13 rallies, the Citroen Ds3 WRC has already set the standard. In Sebastien [Loeb] and Mikko, we have two drivers with complementary styles, both capable of winning rallies."
