Coming Up This Month At Co-op Live

A number of big names are scheduled to appear at Co-op Live this month as the largest indoor arena in the UK prepares to welcome a range of stars to Manchester during July.

First up on Tuesday 9 will be Stevie Nicks, when she plays the second of three UK dates, in between shows in Glasgow and London.

Famed for her role with Fleetwood Mac, where she contributed to one of the top selling albums of all time with the 1977 release Rumours, Nicks has also had a hugely successful career as a solo artist, resulting in her being named as one of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time by Rolling Stone.

Nicks is also the first woman to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on two occasions – firstly alongside Fleetwood Mac in the late 1990s and then as a solo artist a decade later.

Just 24 hours later, Kings of Leon will hit the stage for the latest date on their international tour, which comes before the band heads off to take in dates across Europe and the USA.

One of the largest rock bands in the world, Kings of Leon return to Manchester shortly after the release of their ninth studio album Can We Please Have Fun, and will be supported by Indie rock band The Vaccines – fresh from an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival.

From rock, the vibe changes to rap when Travis Scott arrives at Co-op Live on Saturday 13 for the Manchester stop on his UTOPIA - Circus Maximus Tour.

Nominated for ten Grammy Awards during his career to date, Scott is one the biggest names in the rap scene with four US number one hits – with Utopia also topping the album charts in the UK.

Megan Thee Stallion follows Scott onto the stage on 14 July for the first of three dates in the UK on her latest tour, looking to build on the success of her third studio album Megan – which was released earlier this year and gave her a second US number one hit with Hiss.

Music gives way to sport towards the end of the month when the Ultimate Fighting Championship has the honour of being the first sporting event to take place at Co-op Live on 22 July with UFC 304.

The first UFC event in Manchester since 2016, the show is set to be headlined by the Welterweight Championship fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad. The pair will renew battle having gone head-to-head at UFC Fight Night 187 – a fight which ended as a no-contest following an accidental eye poke.
