Dacia Sandero Tops European Sales Charts
Dacia has been given further reason to cheer after the Sandero was revealed as the best-selling car across Europe for 2024.
The Romanian brand enjoyed a record-breaking year in the UK having sold more than 31,000 new cars but also celebrated a new best market share across the wider marketplace – selling over 676,000 new cars in total.
The biggest seller across the Dacia range was the Sandero, with a total of 309,392 sales making the small hatchback the best-selling car across Europe.
The Sandero had finished second in the rankings in 2023 behind the Tesla Model Y.
Sales increased for both the Duster and the Jogger models although sales of the Spring – the only fully electric car that is part of the Dacia line-up – were down by 63%, with the manufacturer blaming the drop on smaller government grants.
That was despite the car being made available on the UK market for the first time during 2024.
For 2025, Dacia will introduce the new Bigster into the line-up having already confirmed a pricing structure that will undercut most of its rivals whilst Dacia’s focus on electrification will see more hybrid powertrains offered across the Jogger, Duster and Bigster ranges.
“In 2024, Dacia once again demonstrated its ability to combine performance, robustness and accessibility,” Dacia CEO Denis Le Vot said.
“Our results testify to customers' growing confidence in our models and confirm that we are pursuing our strategy.”
