Fiat reveals pricing and specification details of new 500 model
Fiat has announced the UK pricing list and specifications that will be available on their updated 500 model.
The latest Fiat 500 was revealed on Saturday July 4th, 58 years after the first model was introduced in 1957, and 8 years after the later generation, which has since sold over 1.5 million units.
The 500 has retained its iconic shape and size refines, but has benefitted from updated technologies, improved efficiency and a refreshed look to both the interior and exterior.
With no less than 1,800 innovative detail changes, the 500 will be available in three specifications: Pop, Pop Star and Lounge, each of which come with their own individual benefits.
The latest 500 has a more aggressive posture than previous models with forward-slanted headlights and a front-inclined beltline. The new three-dimensional grille and the surrounding chrome brightwork commands attention, whilst the updated 15 and 16 inch alloy wheel designs are subtly stylish, coming in a variety of different finishes, including an elegant diamond-cut design.
Buyers will have a choice of 13 colour options, and will be able to customise their car with a 'second skin' - a variety of patterned enhancements.
In the cabin of the 500, a redesigned dash with the advanced Uconnect infotainment system is found across the range. This system is much easier to read and more intuitive to use than previously, and also boasts aux-in ports and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
The Lounge version is equipped with the Uconnect 5 inch Radio LIVE system which is a touchscreen unit complete with Bluetooth hands-free calling and music streaming; voice recognition and an SMS reader for reading text messages received on compatible telephones.
On the road prices range from £10,890 for a basic 500 Pop model with a 1.2 litre, 65hp engine, to £17,070 for the 500C Lounge model with 0.9 litre TwinAir 105hp engine. The 500 Pop can accelerate from 0 62mph in 12.9s and has a top speed of 99mph, whilst the 500C Lounge takes 10s to reach 62mph and can reach 117mph.
With 12 different model options available, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.
