Five-star safety for Peugeot 308
The Peugeot 308 has managed to claim a five-star safety rating following its achievements in the Euro NCAP tests.
It has now become one of the leading models in its class when it comes to protecting both the driver and the passengers.
The five-door hatchback is jam-packed full of innovative safety systems, including an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) which detects the first signs of a sideways skid and reduces oversteer. Department for Transport statistics have shown that cars fitted with ESP are 25 per cent less likely to be involved in a fatal accident.
Other features include an electric parking brake and hill assist, a reversing camera to help with parking, and a total of six airbags to protect everyone in the vehicle.
Additionally, emergency alert and braking systems mean the 308 detects if you are about to lose control of the car, before applying the brakes to deal with the situation. This technology helps to keep you from being involved in a collision. The feature is available as standard in the Feline version and as an added extra in the Allure model.
