Ford Reveals the New Ford Capri - Reborn As An All-Electric Coupe SUV

Ford has revived the Capri model, reclaiming the classic name in all-electric coupe SUV form.
The model was hugely popular from the 1970s-80s, though the New Capri has received the full modern treatment.
Highlights include up to 390 miles (WLTP) range, rapid 185kW charging, and a 14.6” touchscreen housing the latest technology.

The Ford Capri is back, though it’s not the car we once knew. The name may evoke 1970s and early 80s nostalgia, however the New Ford Capri is anything but old.

A far cry from the rectangular fastback coupe of the ‘70s, the New Ford Capri has had the ultimate modern makeover. It’s now a 100% electric coupe SUV!

Revived and electrified

Other than a completely new design, the biggest change with the New Ford Capri is its powertrain. Ditching the internal combustion engines of old, the new Ford Capri is a fully electric vehicle, offering up to 390 miles (WLTP).

You can choose from a 52kWh, 77kWh, or 79kWh battery, with each offering varying levels of range and performance. The standard 52kWh battery offers 168bhp, whereas the extended 77kWh and 79kWh versions offer 282bhp and 335bhp.

Charging the new Capri will be both quick and easy, with a maximum charging speed of 185kW. This will allow you to top up from 10-80% in just 26 minutes, when driving the Extended-Range AWD model.

With AWD versions, you can enjoy greater control in varying weather conditions. Not to mention speedy performance, with a 0-62mph time of 6.4 seconds achieved during testing.

Packed with impressive features, the New Ford Capri offers style and practicality in one luxurious package.

Choose from Select and Premium trims depending on your preferences. The Select trim offers a range of appealing features making it the perfect go-to, including:

Partial Sensico trim
Powered driver sport seat with massage function
Heated seats
Seven-speaker sound system with integrated soundbar
14.6” touchscreen with tilting function

Meanwhile, the Premium trim takes things up a notch when it comes to technology, with features like:

Power-operated tailgate
Matrix LED headlamps with glare-free technology
Premium Bang and Olufsen sound system
LED ambient lighting

With up to 572 litres of boot space, the New Ford Capri offers ample space to storage luggage and equipment.

While the old Ford Capri knew nothing of Bluetooth or satellite navigation, the New Ford Capri oozes with the latest technology.

With five different driving modes, each drive is what you make of it. Switch between Normal, ECO, Sport, Individual, or Traction (AWD version) and master every road effortlessly.

Also included as standard are the latest safety features. From Pre-Collision Assist to Adaptive Cruise Control, the New Ford Capri is ready for anything. The Driver Assistance Pack consists of 12 ultrasonic sensors, five cameras, and three radar sensors, meaning you’ll never miss a moment.

Behind the wheel, experience a calm, cool, and connected drive with the Ford SYNC system. This houses everything from navigation to smartphone connection, so you can stay connected to the outside world.
