Ford Transit Custom to receive sporty addition
Just days after the Ford Transit Custom picked up high praise, the American manufacturer has revealed a Sport Van variant of the range.
Ford is celebrating after the standard, medium-sized Transit Custom van was named both the Medium Van of the Year and the overall Van of the Year at the 2013 What Van? Awards ceremony.
Upon announcing the winners, What Van? Editor Paul Barker acknowledged: "The new Transit Custom does the name and heritage of the UK's dominant van proud by improving vastly over its award-winning predecessor, particularly in terms of innovation and interior quality, which is superior to anything van drivers are used to."
Rather than slow down after being delivered such high praise, Ford has used the occasion to reveal that it is to offer a range-topping Sport Van variant of the Transit Custom van.
Boasting a muscular body kit and a fully colour-coded exterior design, the vehicle is also going to be fitted with striking 18-inch alloy wheels on low profile 235/50 tyres.
A bold black colour scheme which runs across the van's bumpers, side mirrors, door handles and body-side mouldings is sure to catch the eye too, as is the addition of signature twin bonnet stripes in a contrasting hue.
Step inside the Ford Transit Custom Sport Van and drivers will find be left breathless by a partial leather trim which blends pewter seat fabric with charcoal black leather bolsters with ease.
Excellent technology features come courtesy of the fact that Ford is installing SYNC voice-activated, in-car connectivity package into this variant of the Transit Custom. A DAB audio system also guarantees endless hours of entertainment while on the road.
David Petts, Ford Britain CV marketing manager, underlined: "The new Ford Transit Custom Sport Van offers customers a stylish vehicle that makes a bold statement and delivers full Transit functionality and capability that our customers have come to expect."
The Ford Transit Custom Sport Van hits UK roads next year.
