Further Success for PEUGEOT as 208 and 308 Triumph at Fleet Awards

PEUGEOT has added two more awards to its ever-expanding trophy cabinet, following success at the Fleet News Awards 2022.

The PEUGEOT 208 was heralded for the second time in the ‘Best Small Car’ category. It was one of only two nominated vehicles available in electric form, which helped it stand out as a versatile option - alongside its striking looks, impressive levels of technology and overall value for money.

The new PEUGEOT 308 was named ‘Best Lower Medium Car’. Judges praised its overall style and high tech interior – which includes a class-leading infotainment system.

Both models feature the innovative PEUGEOT i-Cockpit, which is recognisable through a compact, ergonomic steering wheel, which has been designed with driver comfort in mind.

The benefits of buying an ex rental car

The PEUGEOT 208 is available in a choice of efficient diesel or petrol engines, as well as a fully electric version. The all-electric e-208 comes with a 50kWh battery that’s connected to a 100kW (136hp) electric motor, making it capable of up to 225 miles of range (WLTP). It is also compatible with rapid charging, which means that an 80% battery boost should only take around 30 minutes when using a DC charge point. This adds to its appeal to fleet and business customers.

The new PEUGEOT 308 will be available as an efficient plug-in hybrid, or with an advanced petrol or diesel engine from launch. It’s expected that a full electric variant will be available in 2023.

The e-208 and plug-in hybrid 308 models both have low Benefit-in-Kind rates, making them ideal for fleet and business buyers.

The judges commented: “The 208 is a deserved winner for a second year running, it is fun, desirable and importantly – financially viable for private or fleet users. The 308 is an outstanding car in this category. Stylish with a premium feel, with excellent hybrid options, the 308 is also engaging to drive and has latest-generation tech. It really raises the bar.”
